Damaged Heart Necklace

Damaged In the Storm

On July 21, 2008 a series of severe storms hit the Mid-West. My neighborhood was no exception. I woke up at 6:30Am to hail pelting my bedroom window. After all was said and done, almost all the trees were down, from the roots up. The trees that survived the storm were hit pretty hard too.

We were all devastated by the damage. My first thought was that I had to make something good, come out of the Bad. I took a fallen branch from our mighty Pin Oak and cut imperfect hearts from it and made it into this great necklace. I have included the pictures of both the fallen branch and the Damaged Heart necklace I made from it's branch.
